I did some checking around teh Interwebz and see that LOTS of people are having that issue with the spatial audio and it's not just isolated to the PC version or even the Steam version so methinks they'll have to patch that. The spatial audio going all over the place is annoying as hell because there's no setting for me to disable as I'm just using stereo headphones and my onboard audio doesn't do anything above that.

These drivers were WHQL certified too so I'm at a loss for that but whatever- it fixed it.

It's important to note that I updated the drivers from my motherboard manufacturer's website directly and bypassed Microsoft update as it claimed mine were up-to-date.

Updated my nVidia graphics drivers (not sure if this had any effect on it but again, trying to use a shotgun here instead of a knife).

Update onboard audio drivers (turns out mine were 3 years out of date) <- This I'm certain is what fixed it for me.

Update motherboard chipset drivers (shouldn't have anything to do with it but couldn't hurt).
